Patrick-Perry Wedding Report - September 24, 2011

The wedding was held at  First Lutheran Church in Havre, Montana.  It was a gorgeous day…perfect for a wedding.

Their wedding was just beautiful…Sadie was a gorgeous bride…in this cream colored sheath gown with a bustle like at the back that streamed down into her train…not very many people have the figure to wear that type of gown…but she looked beautiful.

The maid of honor and bride’s maids wore short dark purple gowns..very attractive.  The groom, best man and ushers were decked out in black tuxedos….as were the dads of the bride and groom.  Linda, Mother of the bride wore a beige almost pearlescent layered sheath.

As the guests left the church and greeted the bride, groom and parents, a bagpiper played…then lead the procession over the to the reception which was held in the St. Jude’s Parish Hall.  It was decorated in soft lights, oriental lanterns…Chinese food was served at the evening dinner.  Each place setting included chopsticks and a small which Chinese takeout box with two of the most darling frosted fortune cookies.

The cake was simple but elegant…carrying through the color theme of purples…greens..white.  Each layer was a different type of cake.  My place in line was served chocolate with raspberry filling…and was delicious.  Some people at my table were served the layer of white cake with pineapple filling.

Lots of fun toasts and roasts by both sides of the family…dancing followed into the late night.  It was fun to spend time with family and friends….visiting…seeing how much all the little kids have grown.

Sadie Patrick and Dustin Perry to Marry in Havre, Montana on September 24, 2011

Here is the wedding invitation to the Patrick-Perry wedding this coming weekend.  I am excited about attending the event.  Will report more later.

Hannah Patrick Makes the Varsity CMR Volleyball Team

Hannah Patrick made the CMR Varity Volleyball Team.  She is the daughter of Brian and Patty Patrick. The Patricks moved to Great Falls this summer after Brian retired from the Townsend School District as the Superintendent of Schools.  He accepted a job with the Great Falls Public School System after his retirement.

Hannah played in Billings this weekend where the CMR Little Rustlers were swept by Billings West.  Hannah was in the team stats when the Lady Rustlers Blocked 4 hits...three of the blocks were delivered by Hannah.

This Editor is going online right now for a schedule.  I would love to see her play volleyball.

Keith Patrick Is Moving to Redding, California

I spoke with Keith yesterday at WalMart.  He told me that he has accepted a transfer with WalMart to Redding, California.  He said since Aunt Beth and Lee have moved to an assisted living center in Billings he really has no reason to live here...plus take that away...he doesn't like the cold.  Can't blame him.

He will be living close to Vernon and Crystal in Chico, California.

I will miss him a lot.  I go to WalMart almost daily...and always looked forward to our visiting there.  He said that he has seen and visited with more of his relatives during the last few years working at WalMart in Havre than ever before in his adult life.

I know that I never really knew him in his adult years until he moved to Havre.  I hope he enjoys California.  I will miss him.  Love ya, Keith.

Spring Sports in the Family

Saturday, May 14th Loy Ann and I drove to Great Falls.  We went to watch Tanner Chvilicek play baseball.  He plays for Billings.  They were in town to play against Great Falls.  It was good to see Caroline, Jerome, Abby and Tanner.  We also spectated with Caroline's Mom, Dad and Sister.

The ever strong Great Falls wind drove us to the car...and we took that to right center field.

Tanner pitched the last two innings of the first game.  He looked good.  He held Great Falls who already had a huge lead and was threatening to end the game because of a ten point lead.  That didn't happen with Tanner on the mound.

In the second game he played right field...looked good.  My favorite Tanner action of the weekend was his gorgeous steal of second base.  He went on to score.

The next time at bat he was hit in the head and given first base.  He attempted to steal second but was thrown out...and had to come out of the game because of the head injury.  Billings at that point had a lead but lost it and the game.  Darn!

Fun day!

While watching the game I was on the cell phone to my grandson, Judson.  He was in Chicago playing  Mite Triple A Hockey.  It was exciting.  He registered his first Triple A assist in the first game when Phoenix defeated Chicago...St. Louis beat Phoenix...second Chicago team beat Phoenix...then Phoenix defeated Madison, Wisconsin in the final game.  Not bad...they came out of the tournament 2-2.

Joshua took Judson site seeing in Chicago on Saturday between games.  They were going up to the top of the John Hancock Building but the day turned out to be foggy so "no sense in doing that when you can't see anything"...as my grandson explained to me.

Hammlers Go To Disneyland

Kristin and Bob Hammler took their family to Disneyland a couple weeks ago.  They spent two days there and had a marvelous time.  They happened to be there at the same time as cousins John and Mary Filicetti from Kent, Washington.

They were able to meet for dinner at the Wine Country Trattoria at Disneyland and then took in the World of Color…which started but then they were rained out.

Disneyland has been a tough visit this year in California because of the rain.  (This Blogger fly to Los Angeles with Jody’s Mom and Dad…then we met Joshua, Jody,  Judson and Jonah for a few days at Disneyland…put in one-half day…I refer to it as the Disneyland Deluge.)

Kristin and Bob have three children:  Zach (10), Kaleb (7) and Madison (5).  They just finished their ride on the Tower of Terror (in California Adventure Land) when Madison announced that she had just lost her first tooth.  The amazing thing was the Tooth Fairy found her and her tooth in California.

Madison is involved in dance...all three play soccer.  Bob will coach Kaleb and Madison's teams this year.  Kristin is the President of the PTA at Alkali Creek School in Billings Heights where the Hammlers live.

Kristin is the daughter of Laurie and Randy Koutnik.  She is Raymond and Helen Patrick's granddaughter.

Brian and Patty Patrick's News from their 2010 Christmas Letter

Cory is a senior at Townsend High School.  He played football and basketball during his senior year.  He was named to the 2010 All Conference Basketball Team.  He was also named Defense and Offense All Conference in Football as well as All State in Football.

Cory’s extracurricular activities didn’t end there.  He was in the Spring, Summer and Fall plays at the high school taking on parts of a minister, hospital orderly and a swashbuckling pirate.

He went to San Antonio, Texas with his Spanish club…had a wonderful time except for the jelly fish sting which needed first aid.  He spent his summer lifeguarding at the city pool and helping with the paper route.

Hannah is a Junior at Townsend High School.  She played on the varsity volleyball team.  She loves playing golf…spent her summer at the gym every day.  She also does yard care jobs and is known in Townsend as the” blonde Japanese Gardener.”

She is also on air at KDGZ, a local radio station.  She attended RYLA summer camp…stays busy with activities Aim Higher, Christian Athletes and is a new member on the Broadwater Foundation Board.

Tyler  is a 6th grader.  He ran for 6th grade rep on the school student council…is preparing for confirmation…played center and line on his small fry football team, the Badgers.  They had a great season and made it to the playoff round.  Last summer he enjoyed Carroll football and basketball camps as well as drama camp.  He excels at the trumpet.

Alaina is busy in her life of Mom, Wife and  Employee.  She and Mike are the parents of 4 year-old Parker.  Mike is on the road during the week.  He now has a contractor’s license so call him if you have a job that needs done.  (I wish these relatives lived closer…between a gardener and a contractor…I could keep them busy.)

Patty has given up the paper route…keeps in touch with everyone on Facebook…subs at the school.

Brian spends his workday in meetings…so he took up running to relieve stress.  He meetings have taken him to Phoenix…Washington, D. C.  where he received a special tour of the Pentagon.  He walked from Arlington to the Capitol Dome and saw sites along the way.

Of course, the big thrill at the Patrick household was Brian’s beloved San Francisco Giants winning the 2010 World Series.

Craig and Linda Patrick Family News from 2010

Linda sent out a newsy letter recapping 2010 for their family with her Christmas card.  Here’s what she told us in summary:

Craig and Linda vacationed in Hawaii in December.   They spent 4 days on Oahu and 4 days in Kauai.

Their second grandson, James Patrick Dustin was born on February 10, 2010   in Missoula, Montana.  The proud parents are Sadie Patrick and Perry Dustin.  Little Jimmie joins brother Hunter at home in Missoula where Sadie is currently working at the Wingate Hotel after graduating in 2010 from the University of Montana in Business Management.

Kim Patrick is working as a manager at the Canyon River Golf Course in Missoula.  While Kile lives in the Seattle area and has become quite involved in running and competing in marathons.

Robin is back at MSU-Eastern in Billings, Montana after dealing with continuing health issues..

The Patricks enjoyed the 100 Year Celebration of Hingham, Montana.  It sounds as if everyone had a good time at the celebration.  Craig was the MC for the day.  Linda was on the organizing committee.  Their family donned the old Hingham Ranger basketball gear and wore them in the “fun run” the morning of the celebration. I am hoping that someone in the family  who took part in the celebration will write an article for us.

Craig is busy restoring his old pickup  Linda thinks it is a ’47 Dodge.  His goal is to have it finished by Spring, 2011.  We will have to check on him.

Linda retired from her employment in October, 2010.  They leased out the ranch…and now are looking forward to spending time visiting their children and grandchildren…plus spending some time during the cold winter in Arizona.

Loy's 70th Birthday Party

It was held at the community room in the Havre Holiday Village Mall on Saturday, January 22, 2011.

The room was decorated in pink and black with the 50s theme…poodle skirts and 45 records.  84 people gathered to celebrate.  Was she ever surprised when she saw the Kannbergs…then her sister Kathy and husband Tom…but when she saw brother Darryl and wife Bonnie from San Antonio, Texas…she really started to cry.

Now we know that she has a strong heart because she made it through the shock of all that…plus we know she has good lungs because she blew out all the candles on this lovely cake…all decorated in the 50s theme.

In true Patrick fashion a DVD picture show was playing…and each of us got up and told a story.  I love all the oral history. Her grandchildren made this great “Happy Birthday, Loy!” banner…all the guests signed it.  What a great afternoon.  Her six children were there…and all of her grandchildren were there.

After the party… the relatives gathered at Steve and Annmarie’s house for dinner…and some pinochle playing…what fun…I didn’t leave until after midnight.  Now that is a stretch for me.

It was nice to gather with family and celebrate a happy occasion!  I hope we have more gatherings like that.
