Maureen Dolan Funeral

A lovely funeral service was held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 for Maureen Rose Smith Dolan at First Lutheran Church in Havre, Montana....with Pastor Michael O'Hearn officianting.  Mary Stevens was the accompanist.  Karly Meyers gave a beautiful eulogy.  Pallbearers:  Trevor Smith, Chase Smith, Floyd St. Marks, Tyler Smith, Ed Hill and Roger Meredith.

A Gravesite Service was held after the funeral at the Highland Cemetery.  This was followed by a time of fellowship and remembrance at the First Lutheran Church.

Family Attending:  Loy Ann Chvilicek (Helena, Montana); Phyllis Gagnon and Janet Saxton (Chester, Montana); Loretta Patrick (Malta, Montana); Kerry and Diana Patrick (Hingham, Montana); Linda and Craig Patrick (Hingham and Missoula, Montana); Amy Thackeray, Eileen Patrick, Ruth Meredith, Roger and Wanda Meredith, Trevor Smith, Chase Smith, Tyler Smith, Shirlee Smith and Lynda Patrick-Hayes (Havre, Montana);  Mikel, Cody and Kameron Dolan (Billings, Montana); and Alan Meredith (China).

It was good to visit with all the family -  Loretta will be leaving for Mayo Clinic in a couple weeks with daughters Gail and Monica.  She said that she is feeling good.  She started her chemo at the Sletten Center in Havre..and when it closed she moved to Great Falls with her treatment.  There seems to be no change even though she is still going through chemo.  The family decided to try Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Linda and Craig Patrick have bought a second home in Missoula.  They plan to spend a lot of time there with their family...and who can blame them with those two cutie pooties of Sadie's.

Robin Patrick is applying for graduate school. She is leaving soon for her interview at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas.  We are anxious to hear the results along with her other two choices.

Loy Ann will be leaving for a winter hiatus in Arizona.

Alan is back in Havre until about April, 2013..when he will once again travel and live in China.

Tiffany is an Air Traffic Controller on Long Island.

Maureen Rose Smith Dolan Dies

HAVRE Maureen Dolan,78, died of natural causes Tuesday, Dec. 25, at a Billings hospital.

Her funeral is 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery. Holland and Bonine Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Maureen Dolan, a very kind and loving person, passed away unexpectedly into the arms of the Lord on Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

She was born Dec. 13, 1934, to Marvin and Gladys (Patrick) Smith. Maureen was passionate about her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking and working outdoors in her many gardens around Montana. Maureen was a master gardener and enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers. She loved playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle. She was a very positive person and always had wonderful advice. She was a hardworking, compassionate person who loved volunteering for her church and making many quilts and school bags. Maureen enjoyed traveling and was able to go to Disneyland with her granddaughter in 2011.

She married the love of her life, Robert C. Dolan, in 1956. They were married for 56 years. Maureen was a teacher throughout her life, where she taught G.E.D. classes at Robin's school. Maureen played women's softball well into her 60s and could play as well as the young ladies on the team. Maureen occasionally also taught students how to drive. After retirement, Maureen and Robert spent their summers at Swan Lake and their winters in Mesa, Ariz. They had many friends in both places.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Marvin Smith; her husband, Robert Dolan in September 2012; her brother, Richard Smith; and her sister, Karen Taylor.

Maureen was a very loving mother to her two sons and her foster daughter. She is survived by her oldest son, Mike (Cody) Dolan of Billings; her youngest son, Wade Dolan, of Arizona; her foster daughter, Candace (Gerald) Hoots of Portland, Ore.; and her granddaughter, Kameron Dolan of Billings.

Memorials in Maureen's honor may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at 911 W. 5th Ave., Spokane WA 99204.

Dennis and Dee Patrick's Christmas Letter and Pictures

Dennis is the son of Elizabeth Patrick Blevins and Cecil Patrick.  He and Dee live in the Seattle area.  As does their son Ryan and his wife Rhoda...and their grandchildren.  It is always good to hear from them.

Kristin is the oldest daughter of Laurie and Randy Koutnik.  Raymond and Helen are her grandparents.

The Hammlers live in Billing...and as you can see they are one busy family.  I am so blessed as to share a part of their lives every once and a while.

Kim's Great Grandfather James Will Patrick was a brother to Grandpa Charles Patrick.

She is married to Allan Brown who is the Pastor of the 1st Baptist Church in Miles City, Montana.  I have visited and met them in Miles City.  They are wonderful people.

Kim and Allan have two children - Mark and Casey.

Mark is married to Meghan and they have three darling daughters - Ellie, Greta and Audrey...everyone is in the Christmas Card picture which was take at Casey's wedding to husband, Darren.

Lynda Patrick- Hayes' 2012 Christmas Photo Card

Lynda  with Joshua, Jody, Judson and Jonah Hayes.  Joshua is the son of Lynda-Patrick Hayes...and the grandson of Raymond and Helen Patrick...these two little boys are their great grandchildren.  Joshua and Jody live in Scottsdale, Arizona with their two boys.

Lynda spent a week at Thanksgiving with Joshua and family in Scottsdale.  She was able to see everyone of Judson's five hockey games that weekend as his team - Firebirds Squirts Major - won the 2012 Turkey Shootout Tournament.

Judson is a defenseman with the team.  Jeanne and Willie Stecher along with Tom and Carolyn Patrick were able to attend the championship game at the Polar Ice Arena in Gilbert, Arizona.

Grandpa and Grandma Jack and Judy Svendsen also were at every game with Lynda, Joshua and Jody.

Connie and Steve Ritchie 2012 Christmas Card

Connie Jo Gale Ritchie is the daughter of Ermond Gale, Jr.  Junior - as he was called by the family - is the son of Ermond and Marie Gale.  Ermond was a brother to Grandma Sadie.

Connie and her husband Steve spend summers in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and winters in Naples, Florida.

As you can see from their card these two really have a fun time.

Connie and I have corresponded for years.  We watched our children grow up in pictures...and now we are enjoying watching our grandchildren grow up.

She has four children -  Nick - and the triplets - Erik, Courtney and Gregory.

Billie Marie Engaged

Billie Marie Higgins Sozanski received a marriage proposal December 14, 2012...in Rockefeller Center.  She said "yes".  The lucky fellow - Charles McDade.  Congratulations, Billie.

Billie is the daughter of Kathy Patrick.  She is Curly and Billie Patrick's granddaughter.

She lives in New Jersey with her two sons.
